 Building Green

  • Since the year 2000 the Building Industry has begun to develop higher energy savings and reusable materials in buildings.
  • The organization that heads this is called the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design - LEED. Most of the designs, materials and techniqaues used must have this trademark to be considered green compliant and as of today most buildings being built using the LEED approved materials are mostly commercial in nature, such as office buildings and multi-unit residential buildings.
  • But more and more people are requesting the use of green labeled materials in their new residential homes.  Although at this time using some of these materials for residential projects may be more costly, these prices in time may come down as more people request these materials and they are more readily available.
  • Purchasing these materials may cost a little more initially but over time they may produce cost recovery in savings on your energy bills.  The types of energy saving materials that we use would be building insulation, high performance energy saving windows, an energy efficient furnace and air conditioning units and even tankless hot water heaters.
  • All of these items are gaining more and more favor in the residential building market.  We try to install these products by letting our customers know the value that they can expect by using these higher efficiency products.
